We also recommend using laundry soap when washing by hand. If the dirt is severe, hand washing with solid soap is the best way to remove the dirt. However, there is a possibility that solid soap residue may remain on the very fine fibers, so if you wash with solid soap, please rinse thoroughly. Also, if dirt has become entangled in the ultra-fine fibers and is difficult to remove, dissolve detergent in hot water (boiling water will damage the fibers, so boiling water and then let it cool slightly. Water up to about 90 degrees is fine) and soak the item in the water. The dirt that has become entangled in the fibers will float up. If the cloth is very dirty, try this several times, and if the dirt no longer floats up, then it's fine. Soaking the cloth periodically is likely to extend the life of the item.
